I think whereas much women suffer from maximizing mindset, men suffer deeply on the subsequent rejection they feel after swiping so much and receiving almost none if any likes or matches. A whole industry has been built around profile optimization in response (and for some men, its very much needed, and could be just what's missing to generate success), but the statistics will still play for those few "Catalina" male profiles.
